Yo what up every one, I bought my first MPC when I turned 18 (I’m 31 now) and never had any kind of direction other than YouTube. I had hundreds of questions that came to mind and very little ways to answer them. About a year and some change ago, I joined J. Black’s Finger Drumming Academy. Instantly I began having questions answered, things started to click, and even better I received a valuable contact for any future questions. After just 4 lessons from the academy, I saw more improvement in my drumming than I had on my own for 12 years. After 3 months in the academy I began seeing a much improved player, I was more accurate, faster, and more consistent. Around 7-8 months with lessons, I began gaining enough confidence to play sets as well as chop and create my own samples.
