Beats by Jblack holding an Akai MPC live II

Beats by Jblack is an Atlanta-based producer who has mastered the craft of making beats on the MPC. BeatsbyJBlack’s musical style can best be described as boom-bap nostalgia with influences from soul, R&B, 90s hip-hop, and trap. By blending older and newer styles, Beatsby Black has amassed a following of all ages and backgrounds.

JBlack’s passion for the craft extends to teaching others to make beats. As the founder and lead instructor at Finger Drumming Academy, Jblack has taught over 1,000 students to make beats and build their musical careers in a one-on-one setting. These lessons often expand past the
MPC and into teachings on business and personal development.
Companies such as McDonald’s, Gap, Akai, Fox Network, the Golden State Warriors, Sweetwater Music, and Red Bull have recognized Jblack as an asset to their marketing campaigns both visually and musically.

His loyal following across social media platforms describes his beats as
“timeless”, “ear candy”, and “balanced”… BeatsbyJBlack’s beat-making process is inspired by artists such as Just Blaze, Boon Doc, and J Dilla with soulful samples, bounce, and big drums. This is exemplified in his song “I Can’t Go For That with rap artist, 2 Chainz and in his viral hit “So Gone Challenge” which has been used by every major sports brand in 2023.
